"Urban Action"
--participating with you in our community--

We not only like to have fun, we want to do our part in any way we can in our community.  Whether its donating coffee or merchandise for a fund raiser, serving coffee at a conference or event, hosting a gathering in our stores, or giving discounts to people and organizations who are making a difference, we want to help.

If you are interested in partnering with us please contact us.

Taste of West Michigan-

Held on the downtown campus of GVSU.  All profits benefited Mel Trotter Ministries.  The GVSU student body is studying poverty this year and they thought it was a good idea to support an organization who works within our community.

Devos Urban Leadership Foundation-

We had the pleasure of hosting a Devos Urban Leadership Foundation party at our place on August, 23.  Leaders from across the U.S were in town for their tri-annual conference.  It really was a party!  There was live music all night long with soulful jams, worship, hip-hop, speakers and lot's of laughs.  We were packed and everyone had a great time.  This is another example of ways in which we support mentoring and change.  Thanks everyone for the memorable night (we can still hear some of those songs in our heads).

Please visit the website to find out more.  It's a great thing!

Mars Bros Mentoring-

We partner with Mars-Bros mentoring program who brought in twenty-five seventh graders to do a reading from "Transall Saga" by well known author Gary Paulsen.  Mentoring is important to us so we work with Mars-Bros and give discounts to mentors who bring in their kids.  Please visit the Mars-Bros website if you would like more info on how they bring positive change to children's lives in West Michigan!

We had a wonderful time with Kimberley Locke during Celebration on the Grand.  Kimberley is a successful recording artist who has appeared on "America's Idol."  Kimberley has released a couple albums and did a meet and greet at our place for local fans before doing a concert along the Grand River.  Kimberley is a wonderful person, both kind and sweet, please give her your listening ears!  Thanks Kimberley for stopping by!  And thanks Star 105.7FM for co-hosting with us!  Check out Kimberley's website at!
